The eighth edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will take place in 2022. From 16 October 2022, he will take place in Australia until 13 November. Originally, the tournament was scheduled to take place in 2020, but in July 2020 the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that the tournament had been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In August 2020, the ICC also confirmed that Australia would host its reorganized tournament in 2022, with the T20 World Cup originally scheduled to be held in India in 2021, but later held by the United Arab Emirates. Moved to the Commonwealth of Nations and Oman. On January 21, 2022, the ICC confirmed the full tournament schedule. Hosts Australia is also defending champions.
Teams and qualifications
In 2022, 16 teams will compete in the T20 World Cup. Australia has already secured one of the 15 slots available, out of 86 teams.
A team that finishes in the top eight of the T20 World Cup 2021 automatically qualifies for the T20 World Cup 2022. Four additional teams participated in the previous competition. As for the other four teams, they will be picked from the ICC tournaments and qualifier matches throughout the year.
