Many believe that Liz Truss, the prime minister of the United Kingdom, will soon be able to retire from politics. According to the Daily Mail, the UK prime minister might be dismissed by October 24. According to sources, Graham Brady, the chairman of the Party’s committee that oversees the leadership election, would receive letters of no confidence in Truss from up to 100 British members of parliament (MPs) of the ruling Conservative Party.

Truss made a major U-turn from her central plank of tax cuts on October 2 when she withdrew a policy that would have eliminated top rates for the wealthiest taxpayers. The slash caused market turmoil, as well as many rebellions within her party.

U-TURN MADE BY LIZ TRUSS SOON AFTER LEADERSHIP

Truss is facing the possibility of being fired as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom as a result of his failure to control Britain’s soaring inflation and the currency’s drop to a record low. In fact, on September 23, her regime unveiled a mini-budget with the goal of lowering household taxes and energy bills.

Following this, traders issued warnings about inflated indebtedness, and the budget in question failed to have the expected impact on the UK economy.

The budget was presented by Kwasi Kwarteng, the first black person to hold the position of UK Finance Minister, who had been selected by Truss. But on Friday, Truss fired her minister and replaced him with Jeremy Hunt as the country’s new finance minister, plunging the country into yet another crisis. It should be mentioned that since the country decided to leave the European Union in 2016, the UK has seen the resignation of three prime leaders.

LIZ TRUSS MAY BE REPLACED BY UK LAWMAKERS

According to a tabloid source, the MPs will ask the committee chair to tell Truss that her “time is up” or else they would instruct her to amend the rules to allow a vote of confidence in her leadership to take place right away. According to the story, Brady is fighting to keep Truss in place and has argued that the newly appointed Hunt and Truss should have a chance to present their economic policy in a budget on October 31.

On the other hand, The Times has claimed that a few lawmakers have had private conversations about this and have thought of removing Truss in favor of a different leader. This would mark the fifth time since Brexit that the UK prime minister has changed.

As a result of Truss’ failure to fulfill key promises she made during the election, which stoked resentment among party leaders, she was forced out of office. Before she was elected the leader of the Conservative Party in September 2022, she pledged to abolish taxes. Additionally, polls indicate that the Party is trailing the Labor Party of the Opposition.
